SAMEERCSIR-CEERI and SAMEER Unite to Drive Indigenous Development of Vacuum Electronics Devices and Components

CSIR – Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CEERI) and the Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering & Research (SAMEER) are proud to announce a strategic collaboration aimed at advancing Research and Development activities for the indigenous development of Vacuum Electronics devices and components.

Both organizations have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to combine and synergize the expertise of CSIR-CEERI and SAMEER in technology collaboration in developing the Pulsed and CW Magnetron, Pulsed and CW Multi-cavity Klystron, Dispenser Cathode for Diode type Electron Gun, High-Power Travelling Wave Tube (TWT), Thyratrons and other Microwave Devices.

This landmark collaboration marks a significant milestone in the journey towards achieving self-reliance in critical technology sectors as Vacuum Electronics technology holds immense promise for a wide range of critical applications, like Medical LINAC systems and high power transceivers.  This will help to accelerate the development and deployment of Indigenous Vacuum Electronics solutions, substituting imported technologies and bolstering India's technological sovereignty.

CSIR-CEERI, a research institute under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), brings decades of expertise in electronics engineering and a strong track record of innovation to the partnership. Similarly, SAMEER, an autonomous R&D institution of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), is renowned for its excellence in microwave technologies and its commitment to advancing indigenous research and development.

The MoU was signed by Dr. PC Panchariya, Director, CSIR-CEERI, and Dr. P.Hanumantha Rao, Director General, SAMEER. Both have agreed to leverage their collective expertise, resources, and infrastructure, and aim to develop a comprehensive ecosystem for the indigenous development of Vacuum Electronics devices and components.
